PETER BLOOM
Peter Bloom is a Dutch visual artist and music producer whose practice moves between painting, sound and storytelling, creating dreamlike worlds and deep listening journeys.
His visual work combines drawing, painting and mixed media, often exploring the tension between the visible world and the invisible out of which it arises — the feeling that reality is larger, stranger and more mysterious than our everyday perception of it.
ABOUT
Bloom first became known as Delic, co-founder and producer of the influential Dutch hip-hop group Opgezwolle.
At the height of his success in music, he stepped away from the spotlight to travel the Americas, Asia, Russia and Europe.
During this period he began painting and returned to a fascination that had been present since childhood: metaphysics and the hidden patterns that quietly dictate our lives.
His visual practice is an invitation into another world — one of mystery, beauty and what he calls “echoes of an eternal realm.”
Bloom also creates immersive projects with Huda as artist duo Bloom & Huda.
Their installation ReCharge welcomed over 20,000 visitors during its five-month presentation at Museum de Fundatie.
Its effects on relaxation and the nervous system are currently being studied in collaboration with the University of Groningen.
BACKGROUND IN MUSIC
As Delic, Bloom became known for his layered and distinctive production style with Opgezwolle.
His work received multiple national awards, including three consecutive 3FM State Awards for Best Producer, the Zilveren Harp and the 3voor12 Award for Best Album.
“Eigen Wereld” became one of the defining albums of Dutch hip-hop and achieved gold status.
Bloom also worked as a producer with artists including Typhoon and acclaimed Dutch jazz musician Benjamin Herman.
His background in music continues to inform the rhythm, atmosphere and world-building within his visual and immersive work.
