“I create work to lift us both into a timeless sense of wonder”

Peter Bloom (Zwolle, Netherlands, 1981) is a Dutch multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between painting, music and storytelling.

His visual art has been exhibited internationally, including presentations at museums, galleries and site-specific cultural contexts. Alongside his autonomous art practice, he is co-creator of immersive art installations aimed at influencing perception and supporting restorative states through sound and image.

Alongside his visual practice, Bloom maintains an active career in professional music production, including multiple national awards and chart-topping releases, informing his sensitivity to rhythm, structure and atmosphere in visual work.

Bloom’s artistic practice is rooted in a lifelong interest in metaphysics and the latent potential of the human mind. Through layered imagery, symbolism and refined materiality, Bloom seeks connection with what he describes as the timeless or the immortal — an act of enchantment through aesthetics.

After early recognition as a music producer, Bloom deliberately stepped away from the spotlight to pursue personal reflection and artistic expansion. During travels through the Americas, Asia, Russia and Europe, he taught himself to paint and developed a visual language alongside his musical work.

Since 2018, he has presented an integrated practice in which paintings, sound and storytelling coexist as equal forces. His work often unfolds in series or conceptual projects, inviting the viewer into contemplative, narrative-driven environments rather than isolated images.

ARTIST STATEMENT

We make work to open a door.

Through sound, image, story and material, we create conditions in which perception can shift.

The visual works draw from a well of archetypes: animals, ruins, portals, gold, dust, pigment, shadow and light. Together, they form a dreamlike language of myth and memory — images that feel both ancient and newly found.

The same intention runs through the music and immersive works. Rhythm, voice, silence, image and atmosphere are composed to draw the listener or viewer into a different state of attention.

We do not try to create wonder itself. We try to make room for it — to open a passage where the visible world can unfold, and something timeless can be felt again.
